The Lakers travel to New York tonight to take on the Knicks. Los Angeles is undoubtedly coming off its most impressive win of the season over Boston on Thursday night, when Lakers managed to pull off a huge win on the road against their biggest rivals without LeBron James or Anthony Davis. Tonight, James and Davis are questionable. Meanwhile Gave Vincent, Cam Reddish and Jarred Vanderbilt are all out.
Contain Brunson
Jalen Brunson has been sensational all season for New York and was named an All-Star in the Eastern Conference. There will be no Julius Randle or OG Anonuby, so LA will have to lock onto Brunson and find a way to stay disciplined against the skilled guard without their top perimeter defender in Jarred Vanderbilt. Brunson is a true 3-level scorer, so the Lakers will have their work cut out for them tonight.
Fill Vando’s Shoes
Jarred Vanderbilt suffered an injury Thursday night against the Celtics and, although it has not been confirmed how much time Vanderbilt will miss, according to reports he will be out multiple weeks. Vanderbilt’s energy and effort alongside his defense will be heavily missed by Los Angeles and other players on the roster will have to try and make up for his impact in his absence.
Can LeBron and the Lakers deliver another special game in the Garden and come out of the big apple with a huge win against the red hot Knicks? Tip off is at 8:30 ET on ABC as the Lakers look to build on a massive win in Boston and build momentum before their final road trip game in Charlotte.
