Lakers Seek Important Win in Houston

The Lakers travel to Houston tonight to take on the Rockets, which will be the first game of two in Texas. LA are coming off winning their back-to-back against the TrailBlazers and Hawks, and will be hoping to continue the momentum and gain an important game in the Western Conference standings with a road win against the third-place Rockets.

Team Effort

Rockets center Alperen Sengun is a real threat at the offensive end and it will take a team effort defensively from the Lakers to contain him. Sengun is a special passer and efficient post player who can draw fouls as well as stretching the floor. Anthony Davis can’t get into foul trouble, because LA doesn’t have another answer they can put 1-on-1 against him. The Lakers defense has vastly improved recently – particularly since Max Christie entered the starting lineup – and tonight will be a measuring-stick game for how durable that improvement is.

LeBron vs Brooks

Since the Memphis series back in the 2023 playoffs, there has been heightened media focus on the matchup between LeBron James and Dillon Brooks. LeBron has been playing outstanding basketball since he turned 40, while Brooks has shown his value in Houston. Can he deliver another vintage performance and get the better of Brooks again? Tip off is at 4pm PST as the Lakers travel to Houston.
