The Lakers travel to San Antonio to face the Spurs on the second night of a back-to-back. They’re coming off a tough loss in Dallas last night to the Mavericks, where the defense wasn’t able to contain the Mavs’ role players well enough. Tonight, they face a Spurs team with rookie sensation Victor Wembanyama. Lebron James, Anthony Davis, and Jarred Vanderbilt are all game time decisions.
Turnovers
Last night the Lakers turned the ball over way too much, which alongside the defense was one of the reasons they couldn’t come out of Dallas with a win. LA turned the ball over 15 times to the Mavs 10. This led to early points off turnovers for the Mavericks, which gave them a 10 point lead heading into the half.
LA needs to take better care of the ball or this will ring true again tonight. The Spurs are a team that likes to get out and run.
Bounce Back
Last night was a bad loss for LA. There was no Kyrie Irving or Josh Green for the Mavs, and many of the available Dallas players, including Doncic, were playing hurt. Luckily, tonight the Lakers get to avenge that loss and get back to winning ways. This will be the first of two meetings in San Antonio this season, with the second taking place this Friday. Hopefully LA can come out 2-0 in this mini series with the Spurs, who have been struggling all season.
The Lakers have picked up form as of late in the in-season tournament, and a win tonight can put them back in the win column in the regular season. Tip-off is at 8ET as LeBron and LA face off against Wembanyama and the Spurs.
