The Lakers return home tonight to take on the Memphis Grizzlies. This will be the third game of the season between the two sides, with the season series currently split at 1-1. LA is coming off of a difficult offensive game in Minnesota, where they suffered another loss which took them to 13-12 on the season.
Potential LeBron Return?
After being away from the team in Minnesota, LeBron James is questionable to return tonight against Memphis. He has been dealing with foot soreness, and it has been nearly two weeks since he last played. Friday’s game in Minnesota showed how desperately the Lakers continue to need LeBron as a central contributor, but above all they need LeBron to be healthy. Hopefully this break has allowed him to get as much rest as possible. There is an important stretch coming up for the Lakers, and the health of their two starts will be critical to their success.
Max Christie
There was another lineup change Friday night in Minnesota, with Dalton Knecht being moved to the bench and Max Christie entering the starting lineup, who has played well since returning to the rotation early in the season.
He provides point of attack defense – which is a massive weakness with this roster – and provides shooting on the offensive end of the floor, proving to be a valuable contributor. Whether Christie remains in the starting lineup when LeBron returns will be interesting to see, but he has definitely proved he belongs in the rotation.
Can LA get back in the win column? Tip off is at 6:30 PST as the Lakers take on the Grizzlies in Los Angeles.
