Road Test Continues: Lakers Aim for Back-to-Back Wins Against Pelicans

LeBron James wearing a yellow Los Angeles Lakers jersey, standing on the court during a game against the New Orleans Pelicans, with a focused expression and the crowd illuminated in blue and purple tones in the background.

It’s the second night of a back to back as the lakers travel to New Orleans to face the Pelicans. Last night Los Angeles picked up a very good win on the road in San Antonio against Victor Wembanyama and the spurs. Anthony Davis had a monster game with 40 points and 12 rebounds. Davis has been playing at an unbelievable level to start the season.

Max Christie

With Rui Hachimura’s absence last night it meant more minutes for lakers max Christie and he stepped up. After being out of the rotation lately Christie responded superbly. He was everywhere for the lakers, hitting shots on the perimeter providing rebounding and he played really well defensively. It was an impressive showing from Christie and it was nice to see him bounce back after being out of the rotation, the Lakers will be looking for more of the same from max tonight in New Orleans .

Triple double streak

Lebron James recorded another triple double last night in San Antonio, his fourth consecutive triple double, the longest streak of his career, which is absolutely unbelievable for someone about to turn 40. Lebron has been really impressive to start the season and in this four game stretch he has dissected defenses, reminiscent of his role in the 2020 Lakers team.

With D’Angelo Russell moving to the bench it has meant that Lebron and Austin Reaves have been running the lakers offense for the starting unit, something that has really worked. With the absences of Jaxson Hayes and Christian wood Lebron has really helped the lakers in the rebounding department, averaging 11 rebounds across his last 5 games. Lebron is yet again performing at unreal levels, showcasing his greatness even in the final stages of his career.

Tip off is at 5PM PST as the lakers travel to New Orleans to face the pelicans who are suffering with a lot of injuries. Can the Lakers make it 2 wins out of 2 on the road back to back.
