It’s the second night of yet another back-to-back for the Lakers as they take on the San Antonio Spurs. They’re coming off a big win over the Phoenix Suns, which saw LA snap a four-game losing streak. They should be using a similar rotation tonight with both Luka Dončić and Dorian Finney-Smith probable meanwhile LeBron, Rui Hachimura, Maxi Kleber and Trey Jemison all remain out.
Jordan Goodwin
In yesterday’s win, there was a change in the starting lineup. Jordan Goodwin, a player currently on a two-way contract with the lakers, was put into the starting lineup by JJ Redick. Goodwin has been really impressive since getting rotation minutes with this team, providing much-needed backcourt defense and toughness, as well as perimeter shooting. Redick credited Goodwin postgame after yesterday’s win, and it seems likely that the Lakers will convert Goodwin at some point before the postseason to ensure he can be a part of the playoff rotation.
Getting Back to Full Health
The Lakers have been suffering badly from injuries over the past few games. However, it seems that they are finally getting back to (nearly) full strength. According to reports, LeBron James will be out for around another week, while Rui Hachimura should return this week and Jaxson Hayes has already returned to the lineup after time out. Even though the Lakers are coming off a recent 4-game losing streak, they have looked very impressive when fully healthy. Therefore, health has to be the priority heading into the postseason.
