Lakers and Wolves Battle for Series Edge

It’s time for Game 3 of the first round matchup between the Lakers and Timberwolves. LA was able to tie the series at 1-1 in a gritty Game 2, but now the series shifts to Minneapolis for Games 3 and 4.

Contrasting Games

The standout difference between Games 1 and 2 as far as the Lakers are concerned is their increased level of effort and physicality, especially at the defensive end. LA was able to limit Minnesota at the three-point line, where the Wolves hurt them in Game 1. The Lakers’ offense was also functioning better than it did in Game 1, but there remains plenty of room for improvement on that side of the ball.

Three-Point Shooting

The one advantage that many thought the Lakers had coming into this series is their ability to convert three-point shots, but LA’s shooting from behind the line hasn’t been as efficient as expected coming into the series. Austin Reaves has really struggled to get it going and is due for a big game after going 0 for 6 from three in Game 2. If the Lakers can start converting from three they will have a good chance of getting at least one of these two games on the road and taking back home court advantage.
