It’s Game 4 of the first round and the Lakers are on the verge of being swept for the second straight year by the Denver Nuggets. It was a disappointing display from the Lakers in Game 3 to say the least, and they now find themselves in a situation where they will have make history if they want to advance to the next round. On the injury report, Anthony Davis is questionable as is Christian Wood, while LeBron James is probable.
End of the Road for Darvin Ham?
If the Lakers do ultimately lose this series tonight, many will turn their attention to the future of Laker coach Darvin Ham. Ham was on the hot seat earlier in the season, and being swept by Denver again surely won’t help that cause. The difference in coaching quality between the two teams has been noticeable in this series, and the tension between Davis and Ham in this series would suggest that the Lakers will probably be looking for a new coach this off-season.
Play with Pride
The series in all likelihood is over. However, the Lakers need to make the Nuggets beat them, they can’t just let themselves be eliminated. It would be embarrassing to be swept on your home floor for two years in a row, especially by the same team. This Laker team has proven the series they are good enough to take at least a game, they need to end the season by going out fighting. Let’s play with some pride and not be swept, and force this series back to Denver.
Can the Lakers avoid being swept by Denver for the second straight year and extend the series? Tip-off is at 8:30 EST.
